Contrast lineup: Rene Patrick Sharon Contrast was founded in Amsterdam in 2003. The music is best described as a mixture of dark electro, combined with dark wave and gothic elements. (style varies from guitar driven songs to harsh electronic dance floor oriented tracks mixed with classic ebm and dark atmospheric spheres) In 2009 Contrast finished the first full album "Antidote". this album gained for 8 wks in the dutch alternative album charts at place no1 the song Follow the leaders appeared on the CD DeCODEr (a compilation by Suicide Commando) and the CD 10 years DJ -X-X-X and peaked at place 6 of the singles Dutch Underground Charts and also entered place 25 of the Music Non Stop Charts (Palm Springs, USA) Supporting bands like Kirlian Camera and Hocico, cruxshadows & faith and the muse proved the songs very successful for a big live audience. Also two remixes have been released: clan of xymox - Emily schwartzblut - Sterbelied Patrick van Alphen (vocals, programming, guitar) Patrick played from 1986 in several gothic/wave bands, but gained the most success with writing music for the gothic band Malochia. This resulted in a record deal and the release of the CD Dreamhunter and the MCD Shiver in 1998. He studied at the pre-conservatorium in Amsterdam and composed and produced music for a television-commercial, art-video's and other projects. With Malochia, he played on many festivals like the Wave Gotik Treffen (Germany) and Eurorock (Belgium) and played as headliner as well as support act for Rammstein, Project Pitchfork, Clan of Xymox and Christian Death.   René Jongeneelen (programming, drums) Rene started in 1987 as a drummer for several wave bands. He was drummer of Malochia, wrote the music for Dissident Copies and played keyboards in Cruelty Alliance. He was also active as promotor and DJ for gothic-danceparties in Amsterdam. He is also active as (live-)sound- and mixengineer for a number of bands.   Sharon Feigal ( live keyboards) Sharon replaces Maaike (who is currently travelling the world) Sharon made her musical debut in Contrast in 2009 when the band played it's first live gig as support act of Faith & the muse. .
